Beauty Queens
by Libba Bray

Released: May 24th 2011

I can't even put into words how much I dislike the cover art for this book and I've never actually attempted a novel by this author but the idea of pagent contestants stuck on a desert island sounds amazing. A little bit like Lost and Toddlers & Tiaras combined.

Summary from Goodreads: From bestselling, Printz Award-winning author Libba Bray, the story of a plane of beauty pageant contestants that crashes on a desert island. Teen beauty queens. A "Lost"-like island. Mysteries and dangers. No access to emall. And the spirit of fierce, feral competition that lives underground in girls, a savage brutality that can only be revealed by a journey into the heart of non-exfoliated darkness. Oh, the horror, the horror! Only funnier. With evening gowns. And a body count.

We have the same WoW this week! I'm really looking forward to this one, too-- love Libba Bray! Well, great pick. :)
Oh my...I love the lipstick ammo belt!! LOL, that is too funny! Libba Bray is amazing, she comes up with such a variety of ideas. Great choice!
I really like the fantasy-ish trilogy she wrote that starts with A Great and Terrible Beauty. It's really cool. However, I started Going Bovine and couldn't do it ... This looks like another one I'm not sure I could do either. Maybe I just need to give both of those quirky titles more of a chance.
