So it's been a long while between IMM's and I've been wishing my Book Depo orders to magically arrive but I guess everything really does close down over Xmas including the post office :S I hope everyone had fun with their own celebrations and I'm looking forward to a whole new year in blogging. For more information on the blogopsheres obession with In My Mailbox, check out The Story Siren.
This Week I Received:
The Vespertine by Saundra Mitchell
It’s the summer of 1889, and Amelia van den Broek is new to Baltimore and eager to take in all the pleasures the city has to offer. But her gaiety is interrupted by disturbing, dreamlike visions she has only at sunset—visions that offer glimpses of the future. Soon, friends and strangers alike call on Amelia to hear her prophecies. However, a forbidden romance with Nathaniel, an artist, threatens the new life Amelia is building in Baltimore. This enigmatic young man is keeping secrets of his own—still, Amelia finds herself irrepressibly drawn to him.
When one of her darkest visions comes to pass, Amelia’s world is thrown into chaos. And those around her begin to wonder if she’s not the seer of dark portents, but the cause.

What was the best Christmas present you received this year?

I'm still waiting for my borders and book depo orders to arrive too, they are taking soooo long, it's not fair I want my books! The love the sound of The Vespertine, it's on my to be read list along with a gazillion others. Hmmm the best Christmas present I received this is going to sound terrible but money! What can I say I'm really hard to buy presents for so everyone just gives me money which I promptly spend, usually on books!

the verspertine looks awesome, and I can sympathize with the slow mail time unfortunately although I had a jam-packed mailbox this week.
VERY pretty cover for this!!!!
Can't wait to hear how this one is! I'm really excited to read it!

Best christmas present I got was from my best friend, she got me Vixen along with an authentic 1920's vintage purse that looked like it matched perfectly with the dress on the cover! She is so clever, that one! OH and my Nook Color---but hubby let me have that a little before Christmas :)

My best Chrissie present was my new bookshelf. And I love that I have a watch for my wrist again. :) (my watch died on me the moment I got off the plane--remember my holiday?)

I can't wait to hear what you think of this one.

Ooh interesting bio. A lot of vision books are hitting the mark right now. Hope you enjoy this one :)

What I got for Christmas, Book related, was a 100 dollar gift card to the book store. Still have not used it.

Happy Reading XD

Books For Company
I have The Vespertine on my Kindle but haven't had a chance to read it yet. Christmas would have been a slow time for getting books but I got a bunch for my Kindle. They show up within moments of ordering them. I wish I could read as fast as the books arrive. My mailboxes are here and here. Happy reading!
I just finished Vespertine. It was a fun book. Hope you like it!

Sounds thoroughly creepy. XD I've seen this book around a lot but no reviews yet. I can't wait to see what you think! It looks like a fascinating read.

This one sounds great. Happy Reading!
Ooh, that one sounds interesting! Will have to add it to my to-read pile.

As for gifts, I think I did pretty good this year. Hubby got my a new camera, Santa brought me some B&N gift cards, and my mom bought us new luggage! So now I HAVE to plan a trip, right? :o) Oh, and my daughter got me a #1 Mom mug--my first, and she picked it out and paid for it all on her own!

You can check out my IMM here, if you want: http://christitheteenlibrarian.blogspot.com/2011/...

Have a great week!
I hope you enjoy the book!
