Tomorrow, When the War Began

Only last year, I read John Marsden's bestselling Young Adult novel and while I was not a huge fan, it still left an impact. There is now news of a movie being released later on this year and I am quietly looking forward to seeing it.

Taken from NovaFM: Based on Aussie author John Marsden’s bestselling novel, the plot sees a group of eight country teenagers take to the bush for the school holidays.

Upon their return, they find the town they call home has been invaded, the beginning of a war against Australia.
As they escape the same fate of their friends and family, they retreat to the dangerous territory of their holiday grounds and start a guerilla war against the invaders.

First published in 1993, the series spanned seven books and has been called the greatest series for Australian teens of all time.

Heading up the cast of the film version is Caitlin Stasey (formerly of Neighbours) as Ellie.

Lincoln Lewis (Home & Away) Phoebe Tonkin (H20: Just Add Water), Rachel Hurd-Wood (Peter Pan), Deniz Akdeniz, Ashleigh Cummings, Chris Pang and Andrew Ryan also star in Tomorrow, When The War Began.

The trailer for the Australian film Tomorrow, When The War Began can be seen here. The film will be released September 2nd in Australia & New Zealand and I'm sure everyewhere else soon after.

  2. Uuuu, really liked the book -like you, I'm not in love with it, but they say the series gets better and better-, and can't wait to see the movie! I have to read the second! But I have so many books to read, it's hard to find the time.
