How Many Books Are You Hoping To Read In 2012?

Hello 2012!

After an amazing year of completing exactly sixty books in 2011, I'm now totally stumped as to what I should set my next reading challenge at for 2012. What are you guys aiming to read? Is it better to aim really high or just set yourself a slight increase on your previous year...

Last year I aimed for 111 in 2011 which really just sounded cool and a few different people were doing the same challenge but I pretty much knew that was an impossible amount for me to reach but it was nice to try and aim high throughout the year wondering whether I was going to get anywhere near that huge number.

It's only really my third year of reading so intensely and actually paying attention to what's happening in the bookish world so I'm not really sure where to go from here.

my goal is 150. haha. i had a goal of 130 last 2011, and I read 136 books! :)

I'm hoping to read 300 books this year (I read 413 this year but will probably be super busy next year). We'll see what AWESOME books I get the chance to read!

Happy new years! I normally set my goal to 100, but in 2011 I set my goal to 50, knowing I wouldn't have much reading time. I had my son in March! I set my goal to 50 and read 71. I'm going to set monthly goals to read at least one more book more than I read in that month in January. I only read 3 books last January. So my goal is to read AT LEAST 4 this month.

I think I'm going to set my goal to 60. I don't want to set it too high just yet. So I'll just go up 10. Just in case.

Oh thats a cool idea to read one more book per month than you did last year, I might check in to see what my monthly stats are.

I'm going for 100 again. In 2010 I did 85, 2011 was 92 so this year will definitely be the year that I reach it! I think it's safe to aim for about 10-20 more than the previous year especially if there was a reason you stopped reading for some time during the year beforehand. I know this year I had a tough few months being forced to change jobs where I barely read a book a fortnight so hopefully it'll be a calmer year this year! I'm thinking about going for 75 this year, although I think I read a lot more with my daily commute unfortunately that job has now finished up so I'll probably have to set some more official reading time but i'll see how it goes.

This year I'm aiming to read 100 books exactly. I don't know why, it just seems like a nice big round number. I'm usually able to read 1 book a day. I wish I were better at writing reviews but I'm not so I don't, I just say I either liked it or I didn't. But I read 290 books last year. I am hoping for 400 books this year. there was a few weeks last year that I was just too busy to read and there are so many books in my wish list that I really need to start getting some of them bought and read.

Probably because I am a fast reader and can read a 200 pg book in about 2 hours. I'm faster than hubby so I think that's fast..lol

My goal last year started at 100, but I passed that around August so I changed it to 200 - I managed 182 in the end. A good number. I am aiming for 200 straight off this year. Go with what your comfortable with but make it so it's a little bit hard.

Yes, thanks for the advice. I'm thinking 100 is a little too high for me. So I'm going to attempt 75. Who knows I may get pretty close to reaching it by the end of the year.
