After much deliberation, I've finally found the perfect way to keep my reading pile fresh and exciting while also kicking through some reviews and even leaving space for a book selected entirely by you guys! Take a look at my new and improved reading list...
My Choice:
Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi - Nov 2011 YA Dystopia
I'm so glad to have received a chance copy of Shatter Me so early on and in arc form from an aussie book swap only a couple weeks ago. I'm a newbie fan of dystopian and have been lucky enough to really enjoy every novel I've read in this genre so far, so I've been adding many more of the same to my wishlist. If I could find a copy of Divergent next, I'd be super happy :)
The People's Choice:
The Goddess Test by Aimee Carter - April 2011 YA Fantasy
I can only hope for the best with Aimee Carter's debut novel, on one hand it seems to be quite popular on my beloved goodreads but on the other hand, many of my favoured bloggers seem to have disliked it quite strongly. I've never really been a great judge of fantasy novels as I haven't really found any I've really enjoyed but am always so keen to pick up the books everyone raves about, we'll have to wait and see how this one turns out!
Publisher's Choice:
Shift by Em Bailey - Sept 2011 YA Thriller
A really different kind of Aussie YA from what I've heard, it almost seems like it could be a little too dark for the YA world. If it gets too much, I'll probably find myself leaving this one for the daylight hours. Also, how awesome is the cover!
